Job Description

On behalf of our client, a designer, manufacturer and global integrator of welding and assembly systems, material handling systems, industrial parts washers, leak test machines and final assembly systems, we are currently recruiting for an experienced Accounting Manager to join their team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform yearly financial and capital expenditure budgeting and monthly variance and analysis functions
  • Develop, interpret and implement complex financial models and accounting concepts or techniques for financial planning and operational controlling
  • Conduct financial, statistical and analytical studies and to prepare and assist in the preparation of financial documents and reports
  • Assist the Financial Controller with general supervision of accounting department staff and review of work
  • Play a key role in the development of monthly forecasts, the annual budget process and strategic plans
  • Regularly meet with department heads to assist in the analysis of departmental financial actual to budget, and explain variances
  • Analyze costs and indirect/direct labour hour variances to support month end processes
  • Assist in the preparation of schedules for external auditors
  • Analyze, interpret and provide guidance on the application of standards (ie. ASPE, IFRS) for financial accounting compliance
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly and year-to-date financial reports, distributed to the Senior Leadership
  • Participate in the preparation and the enhancement of monthly, quarterly and annual reporting packages for internal and external purposes
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
  • A bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • A minimum of five (5) years combined experience in accounting or finance, ideally in financial reporting (ASPE and IFRS standards), budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis applications, coupled with an accounting designation (CMA or CPA) held or in progress
  • Advanced knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Office applications
  • Detail orientated and organized
  • A proven initiative, analytical ability and decision-making skill to complete projects accurately and on a timely basis
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills and the ability to interact with high credibility at all levels of the organization
