Job Description

On behalf of our client, a designer, manufacturer and global integrator of welding and assembly systems, material handling systems, industrial parts washers, leak test machines and final assembly systems, we are currently recruiting for an experienced Controller to join their team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Direct, maintain and control the financial accounting activities and prepare financial analysis of the operation, providing the Senior Leadership with accurate and timely financial, costing and statistical information within established policies and the GAAP
  • Accountable for the company’s financial plans, policies, accounting practices, maintenance of its fiscal records and preparation of financial reports
  • Develop, analyze and interpret statistical and accounting information in order to appraise project and operating profitability and performance
  • Evaluate the fiscal and operational effectiveness of the company
  • Direct and provide leadership, planning and scheduling of finance and accounting Team Members
  • Ensure that the company’s management information system meets the needs for financial reporting and provides the data required to control the activities of the business
  • Assume direct or delegated accountability for the performance of cash reporting/forecasts, accounts receivable, accounts payable, project cost reporting, cost centre costing, general ledger, and fixed assets
  • Assume accountability for audit review, tax planning and compliance with all federal, provincial or state and local government authorities (income tax, sales tax, property tax, customs)
  • Assist in the preparation and development of annual budget, plans, objectives and reporting systems
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
  • A bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • A minimum of five (5) years combined experience in accounting or finance, ideally in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis applications, couple with an accounting designation (CA, CMA, CGA or CPA)
  • Advanced knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Office applications
  • Detail orientated and organized
  • A proven initiative, analytical ability and decision-making skill to complete projects accurately and on a timely basis
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with high credibility at all levels of the organization
