RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide maintenance support to all areas of production ensuring that both machines and facilities are maintained to operate in a safe and efficient manner
  • Interprets current quality data to determine that present quality standards (ISO9001, TS16949) and policies meet established quality goals and reliability expectancy of finished product
  • Formulates and maintains quality control objectives complementary to corporate policies and goals including inspection types
  • Assists in formulating and implementing inspection criteria and procedures
  • Provides leadership and assistance during all internal and external audits
  • Referred to GD&T and blue print for allowances, critical area checks and fixture maintenance
  • Directs workers engaged in inspection activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities, and products. Provides oversight on standards for inspection procedures
  • Trains quality control inspectors on new requirements and procedures and implements new changes in quality control program and use of LMI, Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Gauges, and other measuring devices for inspection
  • Analyzes quality concerns and facilitates problem resolution, action plan and corrective action development with relevant departments to ensure quick, effective, long term resolutions to adhere to customer standards and specifications
  • Reports to the Senior Leadership Team on departmental progress, and implements directives from Manager
  • Effectively communicating and resolving issues arising out of the production processes, as related to quality, across all levels of the organization
  • Acts as QA representative on shift in decision-making and issue resolution, escalating serious issues to production management and QA management as required
  • Issuance of special change documents required to support production
  • Participates in special projects as required in other areas of quality and compliance
  • Effective handling and resolution of customer complaints and product non-conformities
  • Evaluate off spec & returned products and follow up on disposition of nonconforming materials
  • Evaluating and summarizing information and trends including failed processes, parts rejects, stability studies, corrective actions and re-validations and communicating results all levels of the organization
  • Take samples of products during or after processing operation for routine analysis or for subsequent laboratory analysis
  • Collect and analyze data and samples in support of quality assurance and industrial health and safety programs
  • Develop manufacturing and processing procedures and variables, set machine or equipment controls, oversee production and inspect processes
  • Responsible for the application of HR policies and practices and Health and Safety regulations
  • Communicate and work closely with Engineering and Manufacturing on product changes and new products along with Quality Manager and Technicians
  • Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the Quality Department employees including the training, planning, assigning, and directing work, addressing complaints and resolving problems
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience working in an manufacturing environment in a quality capacity
  • Ability to read and interpret documents and write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to deal with challenges involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Proven ability to plan and coordinate complex technical operations
  • Responsible for enforcing general plant rules and health and safety policies within the plant
  • Strongly organized analytical thinker with ability to maintain keen attention to detail
  • Capable of preparing reports and offering product/method recommendations
  • Mathematical and/or scientific skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Adaptable to new technologies and open to upgrading skills through training
