Job Description

On behalf of our World Class Manufacturing client we are recruiting for a Quality Engineer.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Perform root cause analysis of quality issues, often using advanced problem solving tools (like Kepner Tregoe, Shainin Red X, Design of Experiments)
  • Recommend and implement simple cost-effective permanent corrective actions
  • Analyze quality data from internal and external indicators to ensure correlation
  • Manage engineering changes, working with cross-functional team to ensure timely execution
  • Conduct product evaluation requests to ensure robustness of product or process change before full implementation
  • Work with Engineering and Suppliers to resolve issues that are not plant controllable
  • Recommend and validate rework procedures
  • Develop inspection procedures and best methods for performing inspection
  • Develop projects to support World Class Manufacturing
  • Lead the creation, approval, and implementation of Base Engine or Interior Engineering Field Service Actions
  • Lead cross-functional teams to obtain information required for Director financial approval. Present action for approvals on a weekly basis to both Senior Manager and Director of Current Production Quality
  • Display effective communication skills to support meeting at all levels of the company, including senior leadership
  • Work independently on projects and push to timely completion
  • Report out on projects to immediate and senior management teams
  • Maintain a strong interface with Vehicle Assembly Plants, Vehicle Safety and Regulatory Affairs, Release Engineering and Technical Service Operations
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Practical experience in Engineering, Engineering Quality or Manufacturing Quality within an automotive organization (will consider Internship, SAE, etc.
  • Prior application and use of problem solving tools and statistics
  • Knowledge of GD&T
  • MS Office / G-Suite , including presentation skills
  • Must be self-motivated, results driven, able to work with minimal supervision
  • Excellent critical thinking and leadership skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • May be required to travel domestically (0-20%)
  • May be required to drive a company vehicle - valid drivers license & clean driving record required
