Job Description


  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or Mathematics from an ABET accredited college or university (other 4 year engineering degrees in combination with relevant experience may be considered)


  • Certified Reliability Engineer
  • Design for Six Sigma or Robust Engineering certification (Black Belt, Green Belt)
  • Familiarity with quality measurement methodology, warranty analysis, and third party metrics (Consumer Reports, J.D. Power)
  • Experience in Product Quality and Reliability Engineering
  • Experience working with Powertrain Hardware, Calibration and OBD
  • Experience working with or leading diverse teams (e.g. global, cross-functional, etc.)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present to various types of audiences, at various levels of management
  • May be required to drive a company vehicle – valid driver’s license & clean driving record
  • May be required to travel – domestic


  • Responsible to deliver world-class reliability for new vehicle programs by combining engineering fundamentals with deep understanding of product development, to include: Assist engineering in performing new program risk assessments to determine which proactive reliability tools should be applied to best mitigate that risk
  • Apply Proactive Reliability Process to future systems including DFMEA, Engineering Requirements, and test planning
  • Work with Engineering to identify lessons learned from field and test issues
  • Identify vehicle and system level test issues, perform reliability analysis of test data and develop validation recovery plans
  • Implement new reliability methods and accelerated testing to vehicle systems
  • Powertrain Quality & Reliability Engineer to support engine, transmission, driveline and electrified propulsion

Specific Duties:

  • Develop proactive reliability tools to improve the failure mode avoidance strategy
  • Train and coach quality and reliability engineer’s reliability disciplines including risk assessment, DFMEA, DEVP&R, Reliability Growth and Weibull Analysis
  • Lead the harmonization of key reliability KPIs with other regions
  • Lead the standardization and documentation of Quality / Reliability procedures using standard work instructions
  • Perform statistical analysis for warranty prediction
  • Develop and implement techniques for effective testing and sample size selection
  • Report Quality and Reliability scorecard results to senior management on monthly basis
