Job Description

On behalf of our injection molding, Tier 1 automotive, client we are recruiting for and experienced Quality Manager. Reporting directly to the General Manager, the ideal candidate is a self-motivated team player with excellent communication skills coupled with the ability to drive and motivate a team of Quality Supervisors and Technicians in a three shift operation.
EDUCATION
  • Post-secondary school diploma/degree
  • Minimum completion of CQE or equivalent experience coupled with a recognized Technical Diploma in related area
SKILLS
  • A minimum of 5-7 years' experience in a Quality leadership role within the automotive industry (Preference given to those who have 8-10 years' experience)
  • Demonstrated experience with JOEM with a preference given to those with related experience with Honda
  • Advanced communication, interpersonal, negotiation, problem-solving, and time and priority skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and to maintain focus on quality deliverables/ project milestones and proven ability to perform in a high-pressure environment
  • A proven track record of clearly demonstrated leadership and assertiveness skills
  • Valid passport with the ability to cross the border to visit customers facilities in Ohio (2 times per year)
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Formulates and maintains quality objectives complementary to corporate policies and goals
  • Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing and evaluation
  • Ensures facility conformance with TS 16949 and ISO 14000 requirements along with all other adopted quality systems
  • Lead management system audit events, provide evidence in support of conformance with applicable standards and procedures, and participate in corrective action activities as necessary
  • Investigates and addresses customer complaints regarding quality, and assists in corrective action process
  • Plans and oversees the analysis, inspection, design, test and/or integration to assure the quality of assigned product or component
  • Performs quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements, including vendor quality manuals and company quality records
  • Applies statistical process control (SPC) methods for analyzing data to evaluate the current process and process changes
  • Ensures product supplied by vendors meets required quality standards
  • Design and implements quality training programs to key personnel in conjunction with managers
  • Leads layered audit activities within the Plant and report the findings to the management team
  • Quality System Management Representative
  • Lead management system audit events, provide evidence in support of conformance with applicable standards and procedures, and participate in corrective action activities as necessary
  • Ensure that sufficient resources are available for each department including training, safety requirements, personnel, work instructions, procedures, and related tools
  • Directs supervisors in maintaining positive employee relations and safe work environment
