Job Description


  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred



  • Minimum 6 years' automotive related, design, development, quality experience
  • Other technical Bachelor degree's considered with experience in performing claim/narrative analysis of quality issues, often using advanced problem solving tools (like Kepner Tregoe, Shainin Red X) and able to analyze quality data from internal and external indicators to ensure correlation
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong Root Cause Analysis skills



  • Familiar with 3rd party Quality metrics (i.e. J. D. Power, Consumer Reports)
  • Familiar with WIS/EWT/WDSS
  • Familiar with overall vehicle systems
  • Working knowledge of dealer service information
  • Ability to collect and synthesize data into meaningful information and communicate clearly to all levels of the organization
  • May be required to drive a company car
  • Valid driver's license is required as well as a clean driving record
  • Will be required to travel domestically 20%



  • The Quality Engineer is responsible for tracking lead indicators related to wiring, identify leading edge issues and following them to warranty issue resolution
  • The selected individual reports to the Lead Advocate and will have experience in managing cross-functionally and possess a broad knowledge of the entire automotive engineering, manufacturing, and quality landscape
  • The candidate must be a high-energy, hands-on individual with strength of convictions -- a self-confident leader who, in part due to his/her personal presence, style, and demeanor, effectively sells ideas and solutions to others
  • Moreover, this person must have unquestioned integrity
  • Identifying warranty issues (via Global issue management system) associated with vehicle design, build, and testing
  • Development/assessment of 3rd Party targets (Consumer Reports, internal resources, JD Power) Management (ordering, updating, issue disposition) of internal vehicle testing programs used to collect vehicle data
  • Plan, prioritize, set goals, and manage multiple projects in a technical and business environment
  • Display effective communication skills to support meetings at all levels of the company, including senior leadership
  • Establish partnerships both internally and externally and to influence without direct authority
  • Commitment and dedication in delivering a premier product to the consumer
  • Represent the "Voice of the Customer" to the platform teams
  • Drive team success by clarifying expectations and minimizing political hurdles
  • Demonstrate unwavering commitment to delivering results and champion achievements
  • Exhibit a willingness to do things differently and consistently translate ideas into actions that deliver results
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills with ability to work in a team environment
  • Review top warranty issues for electrical based on higher mileage failure
  • Define issues in clear and concise format for all levels of management
  • Turn warranty indicators into issue definition
  • Provide feedback of correction action effectiveness
