Job Description


  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited university



  • Basic understanding of powertrain systems, components and their functions
  • System Level Thinking - The ability to understand how the different components and systems are interdependent with a vehicle
  • Experience in working cross-functionally and possess a broad knowledge of product development techniques and tools
  • Critical and analytical thinking ability
  • Must be a high energy, hands-on individual with strength of convictions - a self-confident engineer who effectively brings cross-functional areas together to develop and prioritize ideas and solutions
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills with ability to work in a team environment
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presenting to various types of audiences
  • Basic computing skills covering standard office software
  • Ability to work a varied schedule as needed including weekends
  • May be required to drive a company vehicle - valid driver’s license and clean driving record required
  • May be required to travel domestic (<20%)



  • Responsible to deliver world-class reliability for new vehicle programs by combining engineering fundamentals with deep understanding of product development
  • Assist engineering in performing new program risk assessments to determine which proactive reliability tools should be applied to best mitigate that risk
  • Apply Proactive Reliability Process to future systems including DFMEA, Engineering Requirements, and test planning
  • Work with Engineering to identify lessons learned from field and test issues
  • Identify vehicle and system level test issues, perform reliability analysis of test data and develop validation recovery plans
  • Implement new reliability methods and accelerated testing to vehicle systems
  • Be responsible for the execution of new reliability process in the advanced stages of powertrain programs
  • Partner with Powertrain Engineering to deliver systemic improvements
  • Support the Feed-Forward and Lessons Learned process from Regulatory, Warranty, and other sources through updates to core documents such as Engineering Specifications, DFMEA's DVP&R's, and Design Best Practices
  • Plan, prioritize, set goals, and manage multiple projects in a technical and business environment
  • Display effective communication skills to support meetings at all levels of the company
  • Represent the "Voice of the Customer" to the Powertrain Engineering team
  • Drive team success by clarifying expectations and minimizing political hurdles
