EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree, Engineering discipline

 

BASIC SKILLS:

  • Supervisory experience with strong interpersonal skills
  • Previous manufacturing / plant floor support
  • Knowledge of stamping / assembly process
  • Leadership skills with ability to work in a team environment
  • Must be flexible to work in a fast paced unionized manufacturing environment and flexible with work schedule, overtime and weekends
  • Current Schedule: M-F 6:30am - 2:30pm for 2 weeks then rotating to M-F 3:00pm to 10:30pm with Saturdays schedule starting up in June
  • May be required to drive a company vehicle - valid driver’s license and clean driving record required
  • May be required to travel - domestic & international (<20%) for training

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for leading union personnel in the manufacturing of quality products
  • Oversee the quality activities in all production and assembly areas on any shift
  • Assist with the execution of quality checks to ensure quality products are being delivered to the customer
  • Responsible for supervising and directing 4-6 Quality Inspectors in Stamping
  • Responsible for follow up on quality issues in the shift, set up containment and make decision for the quality issues in the shift
  • Work with quality inspectors to disposition the parts (Scrap/Rework) for any quality concerns
  • Send daily shift notes for quality issues in the shift for next shift follow up
  • Review First off performed by quality inspectors in stamping for any quality concerns.
  • Sign off for quality concerns
  • Place parts on HOLD if there is any quality issue found
  • Set up containment for quality issues at our customer (BIW, Paint, Final Line, CPA)
  • Support daily 5 min meetings with Production for quality section, perform daily audits for compliance
  • Escalate the issues as required
  • Perform TWTTP/Herca for any quality issues found internally and at our customer
  • Lead discipline process for quality issues
  • Complete quality Kaizens for the month
  • Assist team on fixing the quality issues
  • Audit the quality inspector work. Perform LPA audits and maintain LPA schedules
  • Responsible for maintaining LPA audit system
  • Collect data for Scrap and Reprocess for our KPIs, participate is weekly quality meetings
  • Perform root cause analysis with the team for quality issues
  • Work with die shop and production/maintenance to find the root cause and correct the issues
  • Attend daily meetings -- shift production meeting, paint metal defect meeting, CFA etc.
  • Update and maintain QA PDCA, QA Matrix. Monitor progress on QA projects
  • Support QCM in quality initiatives for Formability and Dimensional improvements
  • Support / manage the steel suppliers
