Job Description


  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering



  • Experience in Quality Engineering /Manufacturing processes, including automotive assembly operations
  • Effective root cause analysis, problem solving skills and implementing correction actions
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work in cross functional teams
  • Experience and working knowledge of computer systems and MS Office software required
  • Assertive / Results oriented
  • Must be flexible to work in a fast paced unionized manufacturing environment and flexible with work schedule including afternoon shift, overtime and weekends
  • May be required to drive a company vehicle - valid driver’s license and clean driving record required
  • May be required to travel - domestic & international (20%)



  • Manufacturing plant floor support to develop and maintain quality systems that support the daily manufacturing operations to meet product and process quality controls and World Class Manufacturing initiative
  • Coordinate activities between production, production control, SQA and Suppliers. Problem solving, root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions within assembly plant operations
  •  The VCP Specialist is responsible for creating, implementing, and sustaining vehicle control plans to prevent the outflow of defects to the customer
  • The selected individual will manage cross-functional teams and gain valuable experience / knowledge in a broad spectrum of powertrain automotive engineering, manufacturing, and quality
  • Creates, implements, and sustains vehicle control plans to prevent the outflow of defects to customers
  • Performs root cause analysis of quality issues often using advanced problem solving tool
  • Recommends and implements simple cost-effective error/mistake proofing strategies
  • Analyze quality data from internal and external indicators to ensure calibration
  • Perform plant compliance verification and process reviews
  • Manage engineering changes working with cross-functional team to ensure timely execution
  • Conduct product evaluation tests to ensure robustness of product or process change before full implementation
  • Work with Engineering and suppliers to resolve issues that are not plant controllable
  • Support manufacturing facilities with launch readiness assessments and implementation methodologies for compliance to requirements
  • Serve as liaison between plants and Engineering
  • Conduct training, development, and implementation for plant personnel on quality requirements
  • Recommend and implement new initiatives to improve plant processes
  • Analyze quality data from internal and external indicators to ensure calibration
  • Develop inspection standards and best methods for performing inspection
  • Complete World Class Manufacturing (WCM) projects
  • Plan, prioritize, set goals, and manage multiple projects in a technical and business environment
  • Display effective communication skills to support meetings at all levels of the company, including senior leadership
  • Establish partnerships both internally and externally to influence without direct authority
  • Commitment and dedication in delivering a premier product to the consumer
  • Represent the "Voice of the Customer" to the platform teams
  • Drive team success by clarifying expectations and minimizing political hurdles
