Education Level:
College or University Graduation in Electrical Engineering Electrical Technologist at minimum
Experience Level and Skills:
Minimum 10 years electrical engineering design experience in the petrochemical industry (or relevant heavy industry) Solid understanding of computer applications for electrical design (ie. AutoCAD, Microstation, MS Office) Demonstrated ability to adapt to changes in technology Ability to integrate new technologies into daily work processes Solid understanding of standard construction methods and practices Strong communication and interpersonal skills Strong team player and ability to handle multi-tasks at the same time Ability to meet assignment schedule and deliver quality products under pressure Self-motivated and goal oriented Sound reasoning ability, high level of self-initiative, strong desire to acquire new knowledge and skills EPC/petrochemical experience a must
Position Responsibilities:
Will prepare electrical design drawings and assist with modification/revamps of existing petrochemical, refining and light industrial facilities Conducting field investigation of equipment and installations, study of applicable codes and standards to produce detailed calculations, construction drawing packages, scopes of work and specifications Organizing work to meet priorities Reviewing drawings and designs to control quality and accuracy Providing construction field support, technical troubleshooting and advising as required for specific project issues Keeping up-to-date on new products, technologies, design processes and drafting techniques Developing and recommending improvements in design standards to lower costs, improve work quality and facilitate maintenance
